Weekend Waffle: My Routine

Sorry for the lack of proper posts recently, I didn't realise how much work had piled up on me because of my chronic procrastination (ok, slight exaggeration), I'm just very lazy when it comes to doing work! So I've had two essays to do already, and I've had to do loads of extra reading for politics because I just don't understand any of it, stupid pointless compulsory units!
Anyway enough of that, and on to this cute little post I spied on Nic's blog and decided it would be the perfect weekend waffle post for this weekend :)

September Favourites

I know, I know, it is pretty much mid October BUT I did start to write this once got it all done and pretty and then blogger decided to get rid of most of it when I saved it (does that ever happen to anyone else or am I just being a bit dumb?) so I decided to be stubborn and leave it. So here goes my 'better late than never' September Favourites!! I tried to make it as many 'new' or 'rediscovered' products as I could, otherwise I would just constantly be talking about the same stuff over and over!

1. Superdrug's (own brand?) Witch Hazel (£1.79 ..ish?)
I first heard about 'The Wonders of Witch Hazel' over at Nic's blog (who btw I definitely recommend you check out if you haven't already, her blog is one of my faves!). So after a bit more internet research I knew I had to give this a go, if only for the fact that it was majorly cheap compared to most skincare products and I would have nothing to loose! I basically use this as a toner twice a day with a cotton pad all over my face, and I have really been loving the effects it has had on my skin!

2. Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light
It seems like everyone managed to get a sample of these last month a pretty decent sized sample too, compared to those measly sachets you usually get! I was quite dubious about how they would perform for me as I have very thick hair which tends to be quite dry, so I thought a light weight conditioner would not be beneficial as I like mine to be really moisturising. However I was pleasantly surprised, the conditioner really did condition well and they left my hair feeling light soft and shiny! Definitely will be picking up the full sizes!

3. Blistex Intensive Moisturiser
It seems I forgot to take a picture of this one oh well :) This was a product I neglected and just sat around in my lip draw not being touched, so when I was having a re-organise I decided to give it a go again and I'm glad I did! It's the best lip treatment I have tried as it leaves my lips smooth soft and moisturised and I don't even have to use it every night!!

4. Elf Eyebrow Kit

I have used this everday since I got it, it has completely replaced my crummy pencils as it is so much easier and quicker to do. I really love the effect it gives and they last and stay in place all day!

5. MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Modesty.
This has quickly become my 'go to' lip colour, it is my 'my lips but better' shade and I completely adore it! Its a gorgeous muted neautral pink colour that will go with pretty much any look which is why it has become my fail-safe lipstick!

6. Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Virgin, from the Naked Palette.
I am in love with this eyeshadow. It is the perfect highlight shade! It instantly brightens up the eye with just the right about of sheen. I've been trying to find a dupe for it because as far as I know its limited to this palette and at the rate I am using it, it will be gone very soon :(

Swatches of Virgin and Modesty

Again, very sorry its late, I'll try to be better next month :)

Weekend Waffle: Ins and Outs

Hello there lovelies :)
I hope you have all had a fabulous week whatever you have all been up to! I'm finally settling in to the uni routine now, bought some books (:(), got my timetable sorted and know where all of my lectures and tutorials are now (just about!!). My Uni/course seems to have quite a lot more lectures and things than others, my friend at Liverpool doing a similar course only has 4 a week, and I have 10 lectures and 5 tutorials :|

Ins
- Models Own Purple Ash from the 'Car Key' Collection. This colour is seriously gorgeous! Definitely my new favourite autumn/winter shade, I will have to do a NOTD to show it in all its glory!
- Matt Cardle from the X Factor. Oh my. His voice is stunning! Serious shivery goosebumpage when he sung that song at boot camp. Love him :D
- The Apprentice!!! 'nuff said. Although I do think 'Lord Sugar' sounds sort of like a dodgy porn star name. Or maybe that's just me?
- Finally booking my first driving lesson for Wednesday, thanks everyone for the encouragement :)

Outs
- Colds. There's just no need. You've annoyed me for an entire week now, please kindly do one.
- My boyfriend sodding off to Stafford for a week to look after his dads cat ¬_¬ Stupid cat.
- Paying £100 on two books for Uni. I nearly cried handing over my card :(

Rightio, I'm off to stuff my face with a KFC snack box, popcorn chicken of course! Very nutritious work lunch, but its the weekend so I'm allowed :)

Review: Lush Fresh Farmacy Cleanser

I have been searching for a new cleanser, preferably one that is gentle and will thoroughly cleanse my skin and one that is not stuffed full of nasty chemicals that will probably do my skin more harm than good. I was looking into Cetaphil who's cleanser had been recommended highly for sensitive skin conditions in my case acne. However this isn't readily available in the UK, unless I'm just not looking hard enough, but as far as I know you can't get it in the major pharmacies ie, Boots and Superdrug. I did see it advertised on Lloyds Pharmacy's website but I couldn't find it stocked in my closest store. So I turned to Lush, who's ethos is natural cosmetics and fit the bill perfectly. Personally I have not tried any of Lush's skin care products, not for any other reason than I had been satisfied with the ones I had been using. Since aforementioned skin blip, I have been on a huge skincare kick and decided to look after my skin properly. I was scanning through Lush's various cleansers and decided on this one, as it suited my skin type the best and offered the results I wanted.

Lush say: 'Fresh Farmacy is the soothing, cleansing bar to reach for whenever you see a spot starting rear its ugly head. It makes a tiny bit of froth to clean your face gently. And because it's made with masses of calamine and chamomile, it's one of the most extraordinarily calming cleansers known to humankind.'

I had previously been a fan of the tea tree range from The Body Shop, so knowing this had tea tree in made my hopes slightly higher. I was sort of dubious when I first opened the packaging, I had never tried a soap bar sort of cleanser before and it didn't look particularly amazing, just a sort of pinky grey slab. The smell is completely subtle and non-offensive, it doesn't really have a distinctive smell sort of just natural and soapy?
I decided to cut my bar up into smaller chunks so I could use just a small amount at a time, my thoughts being that it was more sanitary that way and less likely to create bacteria having it lying around all soggy after I had used it.

I find that it lathers up really well into a nice thick creamy lather and it cleanses perfectly, although I like to make sure my skin is deeply cleansed so I tend to use a scrub or at the moment I am using The Body Shop's facial brush which I am really loving. After using it my skin does feel quite tight and can be rather dry in places, but it leaves it feeling really soft and clean. I wouldn't say it has any particularly special spot vanishing properties, however it is perfect for what I was looking for; a gentle natural cleanser that will not disrupt or irritate my blemish prone skin.
A week or so after using it my skin has cleared up quite well from the Pro Longwear incident and I am really glad it gave me the kick up the bum to look after my skin better.

Next on the skincare mission, a decent moisturiser!! So if you have any recommendations I would love to hear them and if you have any reviews just give me some linkage and I'll hop right over :)

Haul: MAC, Lush, Primark, New Look.

 MHi there lovelies :)

It seems like I haven't done a haul in forever, or been shopping for that matter, so since I had some pennies coming my way from Student Finance I thought I had better put them to good use (yes I will be buying books too :( at £50 a pop aswell. Its so depressing!!).

1. Stargazer Nail Polishes in 505 and 501 (£1.50 each).  These two shades caught my eye on the Stargazer display tactically placed by the tills in New Look, I've seen 501 on a few blogs before so I thought I would try them out, and for only £1.50 each it was a winner :)

2. Rimmel Lash Accelerator (£6.99).  After all the great reviews I knew I had to have this. I thought the effect was going to be like telescopic (my absolute favourite) but also have the long term effect of lengthening my lashes.

3. MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural in Light Medium (£18).  This is my first repurchase of this beauty. It is quite expensive for a face powder, but my last one lasted me six months and I used it everyday so its well worth it!

4. MAC Sheertone Blush in Peaches (£16.50).  I have wanted this for so long, it gives the loveliest natural flush to the cheeks.

1. Lush Grease Lightning (£5.10).
2. Lush Fresh Farmacy (£4.15).
I bought these two during my skin care binge, I will be reviewing them soon :D

1. Primark Satchel Bag (£9).  I got this bag in black a few weeks ago and I had to go back and get the tan colour too!
2. New Look Ankle Boots (£19.99).  I've wanted some ankle boots for ages and these fit the bill perfectly.
3. New Look Skinny Belts (£4.99).
4. George at Asda Flats (£10)  These where too cute to pass up on and somehow ended up sneaking into my mums trolley!

Well thats my little haul :) Hope you have all had a lovely weekend!

Weekend Waffle: Update + Ins and Outs

This is going to be the first of my 'Weekend Waffle' posts, which are probably going to be fun pointless little chit-chat posts that I can do at work where I tend to have a lot of spare time (don't tell my manager!!).

-  Firstly I would like to apologise for my absence over the past week and a bit, but as some of you may know I have started Uni this week and even though I haven't done anything substantial yet it is so tiring getting back into a routine after having four months off! At first it was really daunting being thrown into a huge lecture hall full of 600 people who you don't know, but I'm adjusting..slowly!
- Its official...my skin hates MAC Pro Longwear. I have concluded that is definitely the reason for my horrific breakout. I wore nothing all last week and my skin improved drastically, but then along came Monday and I realised the only foundations I have at the moment are a very dark Estee Lauder Double Wear, which I would look ridiculous wearing as it is at least two or three shades darker than my skin and Pro Longwear (I actually feel sick saying its name!!). So needless to say I went for the devil in a bottle and consequently my skin is back to the way it was! Sorry that all I seem to be blogging about at the moment is the state of my skin, but it's really getting me down since it had cleared up really well just a few months ago :(
- Also thank you to everyone who has tagged me I will definitely get around to doing them all soon and do appreciate it very much, please don't think I am ignoring them!

Ins
- WINTER!! I seem to mention this every 'ins and outs', but I love it! It was actually frosty this morning and you could see your breath in the air and we had to put the heating on for the first time! Is it really sad that I get this excited :

- Student Finance! I actually don't think my bank account has ever seen this much money at once! Considering I'm living at home so I don't actually need money for accomodation and food and the likes, I have lots of pennies to spend on just ME and books (for my dad's sake *rolls eyes*).

- Finishing 6 MAC products :D Free lipstick YAY!!

Outs

- Skin. I promise I won't mention it again :)

- Shy girl being out of stock when I tried to Back to Mac my empties, I really didn't know what else to pick since the only other lipsticks I wanted are Viva Glam ones and they aren't included so I ended up going back home with my empties, how depressing!

- Feeling generally uninspired. Normally I have a wish list so long and normally unobtainable, but now I have money to spend, nothing is calling out to me...like at all.

- Procrastinating driving lessons. I hate the feeling when I keep putting things off, it seriously makes me feel on edge all of the time! I don't really know why I haven't just started yet, I can drive quite decently (for a learner), because I have been on my dads insurance since I turned 17 :| I just haven't had any actual lessons yet, they were meant to be my 17th birthday pressie too but I just still haven't got around to booking any! I'm sick of not being able to have the freedom of driving yet so hopefully I will start soon :)

Thats all for now!

Bad skin..week.

Eugh.
I am so fed up right now. Something has caused me to have a huge breakout pretty much all over my face. I'm putting it down to either;
- Pro Longwear foundation or concealer
- Or the fact that I haven't cleaned my concealer brush in a week (or two). I now realise the stupidity of my laziness!
Those are the only things I have changed in my skin care routine. I am so angry because I have never had any significant problems with MAC foundations breaking me out before so I presumed this one would be the same. So I am currently hibernating in the house and trying anything possible to help clear it up and needless to say not letting anything of the pro longwear variety touch my face!!!
So this is what I have turned to...

No, not to bake myself a yummy cake to cheer myself up, apparently this stuff works wonders (?). Many of you may now think I have turned insane, but this was one of the most frequent suggestions when googling 'home made face masks' which will help to calm down my psychotic skin. Apparently it helps to bring out dirt in pores, remove blackheads, neutralise the skin, dry out spots and provides a brilliant exfoliation. More information can be found here if you are interested. Some people have even claimed that it completely cleared their acne, which is one hell of a claim, considering it wouldn't be a marketing ploy as it isn't a necessarily branded product!

I mixed three parts bicarb with one part water to create a pastey substance then I applied it to my face focusing on the 'affected areas'! I then left it to dry for around 10-15 minutes, it did feel slightly tingly when it was drying and I could feel it tightening my skin up so I knew it was doing something. Once it was completely dry, and I looked slightly scary, I rinsed it off my face and then rubbed slightly to exfoliate. My skin did feel incredibly smooth afterwards, and the morning after I do see a slight improvement, it definitely has dried my spots out so they aren't so noticeable and prominent. But I am still on the hunt for something to completely clear this up!

If anyone knows of any 'quick fixes' for an epic breakout I would be so so grateful, or any recommendations for skin care products for my awkward troublesome skin, that would also be lovely :)

This or That tag

Because I don't have access to my actual laptop or camera, because I'm currently being held hostage at my boyfriends while his mum is away on holiday (lucky bugger!). So I've stolen his laptop, while he tries to look cool playing rockband, to do a little fun taggish post!

Makeup
Blusher or Bronzer: Blusher, I rarely ever wear bronzer, only to contour if I am going out. I like to embrace my pale :D
Lipgloss or Lipstick: Lipstick. I rarely ever wear gloss anymore!
Eye liner or Mascara: Mascara :) I always have to wear mascara even if I don't have anything else on my eyes!
Foundation or Concealer: Both please ? I can't live without either. At the moment I would say concealer, I have fallen out with all of my foundations and am having a complete revelation, I actually starting to hate full coverage matte finishes :| I want something that is actually going to make my skin look like my skin but better and look healthy and sort of glowy rather than flat and matte!!
Neutral or Colour Eyeshadow: Neutral anyday. I just think they are far more flattering for me.
Pressed or Loose Eyeshadow: Pressed. Just alot easier to use! I haven't really had that much experience with loose eyeshadows tbh.
Brushes or Sponges: Brushes.

Nails
OPI or China Glaze: I haven't tried either yet :| I'm such a nail polish noob.
Long or Short: I'd love to be able to grow mine long but every time I get close one snaps and then they all follow suit :(
Acrylic or Natural: Natural.
Brights or Darks: Darks or Neutrals.

Body
Perfume or Body Splash: Perfume. Can't say I've ever owned a body splash?
Lotion or Body Butter: Body Butter.
Body Wash or Soap: Body wash.
Lush or Other Bath Company: Definitely Lush :) I love treating myself to a lovely lush bath once a week!

Fashion
Jeans or Sweat Pants: Jeggings :D I actually live in them.
Long Sleeve or Short : Both I guess.
Dresses or Skirts: Dresses.
Stripes or Plaid: Stripes.

Flip Flops or Sandals: Sandals.
Scarves or Hats: Scarves. I love love love scarves!
Studs or Dangly Earrings: Oooh both :) I like dangly ones to dress up an outfit, but studs are great for everyday too!
Necklaces or Bracelets: Bracelets definitely. I hardly ever wear necklaces. I think I own two haha!
Heels or Flats: Again both. I would never wear heels on an every day basis and I would never wear flats when going out!
Cowboy Boots or Riding Boots: Ermm...cowboy boots probably.
Jacket or Hoodie: Jackets.

Hair
Curly or Straight: Curly :)
Bun or Ponytail: Scruffy bun when I'm feeling lazy.
Bobby Pins or Butterfly Clips: Bobby pins
Hair Spray or Gel: Hairspray !!
Long or Short: Long.
Light or Dark: Dark.
Side Sweep Bangs or Full Bangs: I love the look of full fringes and had one for quite a while when I was younger. I am actually tempted by trying it out again, but I know my boyfriend hates them haha!
Up or Down: Down.

Random
Rain or Shine: As much of a pain in the arse it is I love rain :) The sound and smell of it is just so relaxing when you are inside and nice and warm haha!
Summer or Winter: WINTER! I love everything about it; Snow, Christmas, Layers, Scarves, Earlier nights, Coldness, Coats, Boots, Cardigans, Snuggling up in a duvet with a hot chocolate when its freezing outside... Ahhh :)
Fall or Spring: Fall, because it means Winter is coming :)
Chocolate or Vanilla: Chocolateeee :D

Normal posting will resume soonies :)

Now for the fun stuff...
I am going to be giving away a £20 MAC Gift Card, now I know its not the most extravagant of prizes but I am on a students budget now! H&M Online Store Open Now!!

I was very happy to recieve an email this morning telling me that the H&M online store is now open! Apparently its only open to "VIP's" (people who sign up to their newsletter) at the moment, so if you want to be able to shop online before everyone else just hop on over to here and sign up. I love the collection and how everything is shown on models instead of just a piece of clothing just sitting there (*ahem* Topshop) so you can actually see how it fits.
Here are some things I have been eyeing up this morning...

While this isn't something I would usually go for, it looks gorgeous on the model. I would definitely get it a size up so it would be extra slouchy and could even get away with wearing it with jeggings.
£14.99

I love this dress. I was actually tempted by it before instore but couldn't find it in my size! Its a simple but classic design so could be dressed up or down and I am always a sucker for lace!
£24.99

I have yet to embark on the whole owl trend yet, but these two caught my eye. They are both interesting pieces and so cute!
Left £6.99 Right £2.99

I am in need of some new simple but cute flats and these fit the bill perfectly! I may even get a pair in black too.
£12.99

All Images from H&M
The only thing that annoys me about the website is that it doesn't show that a product is available in different colours or even design untill you have opened it, which seems abit odd, but hey ho.

Has anything on the new H&M site caught your eye ?

Review: MAC Pro Longwear Foundation and Concealer

Hi there lovelies,
So I recently tried my new MAC purchases; Pro Longwear Concealer and foundation, here's what I thought...

Pro Longwear Concealer (£12.50 for 9ml)

The first thing I realised was that a little went a really long way! It is so pigmented you really only need the tiniest amount to cover anything effortlessly. It covers beautifully, leaving an extremely natural finish, I actually couldn't believe how good it was! It literally stains your skin, as I found out when I tried to remove what I was using from the back of my hand, which I suppose is what gives it it's 'longwear' name! Its a slightly more yellow shade than the foundation which is perfect to elimiate redness of blemishes and discolouration of the skin. I use a large eyeshadow blending brush (MAC 224) to blend this in as I find this provides a perfect airbrushed natural finish and actually covers better. The only thing I didn't like was that it settled in lines under my eyes, which wasn't too attractive! But saying that it blew my old HG concealer (MAC select cover-up) out of the water in terms of how pigmented it is.

Pro Longwear Foundation (£22 for 30ml)
I started to apply this with my Elf Powder Brush, which was a mistake, I should have used my hands! The foundation, like the concealer, is a sort of stain-like formula (if you get what I mean) meaning it drys relatively quickly so it can be a pain to blend using a buffing brush, which tended to apply the product too densely in one place. So when I applied it with my hands it went on perfectly. It didn't dry completely matte it sort of made my skin feel stiff, because of its stainish quality (if that makes sense), but when set (I used mineralise skinfinish natural) it felt matte and silky and actually like skin which I loved! I would say it is a medium coverage, definitely not flawless, but buildable if needed. It is a much more natural finish than the likes of Studio Fix Fluid which I find leaves the skin feeling slightly sticky and just feels heavy and cakey.
Now how did it hold up? Well, I don't know about its claim to stay put for 15 hours because I'm rarely ever awake for that long. I joke, but yeah, I try to take off my makeup as soon as I can so I had this on for maybe 10 hours. It did stay put, quite well infact, and it did somehow manage to keep quite a bit of shinyness at bay which I was surprised about as my skin can get so oily with the wrong base, I did still have to touch up only because I am a shine-a-phobe! Usually when I come to take my make-up off my foundation is close to sliding all over my face (lovely, I know!!) but with this it really wasn't. I would say, it is very much like Estee Lauders Double Wear or Revlon Colourstay, in the sense that it stays put, but slightly less coverage so it looks and feels more natural!

Out of the two I think the concealer is the stand out for me, mainly because I currently love my foundation routine (combination of Estee Lauders Double Wear and Revlon Colourstay to make it slightly lighter as I got a completely wrong shade) and I am going through a slightly bad skin phase so I need a fuller coverage. I will probably use the Pro Longwear when my skin is better and for when I need my foundation to stay put all day eg work/uni. If you want to see a FOTD featuring this foundation, check down a few posts :)

 Thanks for reading,

Please bare in mind when reading this that I am obviously no expert, I probably have no idea what I am talking about :P. This is just my opinion and my thoughts of how I find it and how it reacts with my skin. Everyone is different therefore you may have a completely different opinion to myself.

Ins and Outs

Hi there lovelies !
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend.
Just a quick little post for you while I'm bored at work... (Shhhh ;)).

In

- Urban Decay Primer Potion. How did I ever live without this stuff really ?!? I know, I know, I am waaaay behind the times on this one, but I tend to steer away from hype when I have something that works well for me, in this case Painterly Paint Pot as a base. But I have learned my lesson, thanks to the little sample that comes with the Naked Palette :)
- Mac Pro Longwear concealer. LOVE IT!! This was all I wore in terms of face make-up yesterday for work, I was proud of myself :)
- University :D I can't wait to start now, only two weeks to go !!
- Impulsive eBay buys. MAC's Jazzed was sitting lonely in my watched items for too long, it had to be saved!

Outs
- Being back at work after a nice two week break. EUGH.
- Boyfriends correcting my spelling. Constantly. So I'm not the best speller in the world (huge understatement),  but still :(
- Stuff not being available to buy in the UK. NYC Blushable Creme Sticks, Sephora by OPI polishes, Benefit kits exclusive to Sephora, Crest Whitening Strips, Cetaphil, Revlon's Soft Nude, etc... Sort it out! I seriously need to do a swap or something.
- Xboxes. Stupid contraptions.

First Impressions: MAC Pro Longwear Foundation and Concealer.

This is just going to be sort of a teeny haul and first impressions of MAC's new foundation and concealer.
A seemingly innocent shopping trip to buy my mums birthday pressent turned into a slight overspend due to some excellent selling on the part of a lovely MAC MA. I always manage to get suckered in!
Concealer: £12.50 for 9ml/.3f oz
Foundation £22 for 30ml (both NW20)

Taken on Iphone for quickness, Sorry for slightly crappy quality!
Pro Longwear Concealer: 'A lightweight fluid concealer that provides medium to full coverage with a comfortable, natural matte finish. Colour-true formula lasts up to 15 hours. Helps conceal and correct the look of under-eye circles, and discolorations. Comes in a clear glass vial with a matte black pump.'

Pro Longwear Foundation: 'A long-wear foundation that gives up to 15 hours of wear in any environmental condition. Lightweight and creamy, applies smoothly to provide sheer to medium coverage. Even in hot and humid conditions, controls oil to keep skin fresh, natural and flawless. Provides everyday SPF protection.'

I spied these new releases on MAC's website earlier on in the week and knew I needed to try the concealer. I wasn't too sure about the release date as on most sites it says the 16th (I think this is the US release date), however once I saw them on display I hopped right in and snapped one up. I wasn't too fussed over trying the foundation as I had not too long ago bought Estee Lauders Double Wear, which by the sounds of it is a pretty similar concept. But once I got talking to a sales assistant about the foundation I was sold. She explained it provides 'a flawless natural coverage, stops shine and really lasts' and 'if you love fix, you'll love this'.
So first impressions..
LOVE the packaging of the concealer, it comes in a clear vial, like a foundation, with a pump which is brilliant. The formula seems pretty watery/thin for a concealer, but proof will be in the pudding so to speak!
The makeup artist tried a small amount of the foundation on me just to colour match and as far as I can see it has held up well!

A full detailed review will be up tomorrow after I have given them a thorough testing :)

August Favourites

,Eeeeep, as if its been a month already since I started my little bloggy :) I have had sooo much fun so far, and am so grateful for all you who have taken the time to follow and comment!! Now on to my favourites of this month, apologies for the stock images my camera charger has gone walkies...

Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter
£8 for 200ml
I love The Body Shop's Body Butters so when I got a sample of this from last months Cosmo mag, I just knew it was going to be amazing, and from just one use (used as an overnight treatment), my hair was so soft and moisturised! My hair was getting quite dry because I am trying to grow it, so avoiding copious haircuts which means my ends get so dry, so this was just what I needed. I went out the next day and picked up the big tub of it! I really love this stuff :)

Babyliss Glamour Waves Curling Iron

£20
I have been searching for something that will create loose soft curls, I know this can be achieved using a straightener but I just can't manage it or just need to take the time to learn how to do it properly. But this was just what I was looking for, really easy to use and creates the perfect big loose curl/wave! I love using this for nights out as it even manages to keep it in all night!!
Elf Powder Brush

£3.50
This brush is amazing, 'nuff said. Not going into detail because I have a review coming up soon.
Urban Decay Naked Palette

Yep, I am going to be that unoriginal and include this bad boy. Although I think my reaction to when it came in the post justifies it being mentioned!

I think thats about it in terms of new products or products I have rekindled my love for this month. I haven't really bought much, ok so thats probably a lie, but it doesn't feel like I have, and I haven't had many chances to experiment with new/old things, I've had a very lazy month! So yeah, a pretty boring favourites! But no doubt next months will be more exciting since I am starting Uni and have an excuse to buy lots more goodies haha :D

What have you been loving this month ?

NOTD - Models Own Purple Grey and Rimmel Pro Matte Top Coat

I thought for my very fist NOTD I should showcase one of my recent Models Own purchases, so here is Purple Grey...

Excuse my messy nails, but you get the idea. It is an absolutely gorgeous colour, perfect for autumn/winter and so me! The formula is lovely, it applies evenly and perfectly in just two coats, although I have noticed it tends to wear alot quicker than what I am used to, as you can probably tell from the slight tip wear, but this may just be because I never bother with a top coat! Another recent buy of mine was the Rimmel Pro Matte Top Coat, which I had seen mentioned on quite a few blogs so I gave it a go myself. I tried it out when I first got it (a two second job in the car home) and needless to say it didn't turn out too well. But once I took my time with it, heres how it turned out...

I really love how this turned out! I found that it needs a good application otherwise it will show up all of the flaws and won't look too good, which for me is quite a feat as I tend to rush and most of the time only do one coat! However I think the it looks lovely with darker colours, so will definitely be playing around with this some more.

What do you think of matte nails, have you tried it out yet ?
